At Custom Decking Central Coast, we design and build custom decks as part of a complete outdoor living space. That might be a new composite deck off the back of a family home, or a spotted gum deck stepping down a steep block toward the water. It might also be a full entertaining area with a roof, an outdoor kitchen and landscaping around it. Our work covers Composite Decking, Hardwood & Timber Decking and Pool Decking, along with elevated decks, covered decks and full rebuilds. We don't sell kits or do quick handyman jobs. Every deck is drawn up for your site and built to last.
Conditions on the Central Coast are hard on outdoor structures. Salt air drifts well inland from the beaches and lakes and attacks cheap fixings and untreated steel. Summer humidity keeps timber damp for long stretches. Many blocks sit on Hawkesbury sandstone or reactive clay, and a lot of them slope sharply. That is why we specify marine-grade stainless fixings near the coast and ventilate the subfloor properly. We also set footings to suit the ground you actually have. A deck that ignores these details starts to cup, rust or move within a few seasons.
For composite decking on the Central Coast, we choose boards and hidden clip systems that handle heat, moisture and the expansion that comes with both. For timber decking on the Central Coast, we work with Australian hardwoods like spotted gum, blackbutt and merbau. Each one is chosen for its durability, its colour and how it suits your site. Our pool decking around the Central Coast is built with slip resistance, chlorine or salt water exposure and pool barrier compliance in mind from the first drawing. If you have an old deck that has gone soft, wobbly or unsafe, we can pull it out and rebuild it properly. Ask us for a quote and we'll come out and look at your site.

We walk your block and measure the levels, falls and access. We also check the soil, whether that's sandstone, sand or reactive clay. This tells us how the footings need to go in and whether you'll need engineering or council approval.
We draw up a deck that fits your home, your views and how you plan to use the space. You choose between composite boards or hardwoods like spotted gum, blackbutt and merbau, along with balustrades, stairs and any roof or pergola. Where approvals are needed, we prepare the plans and manage the paperwork.
We set concrete piers or screw piles, then build the bearers and joists square and level. Joist tape goes on the timber framing to keep water out of the fixing points, and we leave enough ventilation underneath for the boards to breathe. On elevated decks, bracing and tie-downs go in to suit the height and the engineer's specifications.
Boards go down with hidden clips or marine-grade stainless screws, with the spacing set for the material and the weather. We then fit stairs, balustrades, fascia boards and any roof or kitchen elements. Before handover, we walk you through care and cleaning, and hardwood decks get their first coat of oil.
What sets our composite, hardwood and pool decks apart on the Central Coast.
We design and manage the whole project, including the deck, the roof or pergola, the outdoor kitchen and the landscaping. You deal with one team that understands how each part connects. The result is an outdoor area that works as one space rather than a deck with bits added later.
Coastal homes need different fixings, framing protection and board choices than inland homes. We specify marine-grade stainless hardware and protect the subframe from trapped moisture. We also choose materials that hold up to sun, salt and wet summers on the Central Coast.
Steep sites are common here, and building on them takes careful footings, bracing and stair design. We regularly build elevated and multi-level decks that turn an unusable slope into level entertaining space. Every level is planned around your views, privacy and access to the yard.
We know how spotted gum, blackbutt and merbau move with the seasons and how composite boards expand in the heat. That knowledge shapes our board spacing, fixing method and subframe layout. It is the difference between a deck that stays flat and quiet and one that cups, squeaks or splits.
